They encompass a wide range of hazards, including infectious agents, toxins, biological waste, and genetically modified organisms (GMOs). Understanding and effectively managing these biohazards are essential to protect public health and prevent outbreaks of infectious diseases. This article explores the different types of biohazards and their potential risks, emphasizing the importance of risk assessment, biosafety levels, personal protective equipment (PPE), training, waste management, containment, and surveillance. By prioritizing safety and adopting stringent measures, we can ensure that our scientific advancements in biological sciences contribute to a safer and healthier future for all.
