Exenteration of the pelvis is a surgical procedure that involves the removal of various pelvic organs, including the uterus, cervix, vagina, and sometimes portions of the bladder and rectum. This extensive procedure is primarily indicated for the treatment of recurrent or persistent gynecologic cancers, which pose a significant clinical challenge.
