The Agriculture Heritage Rice–Fish System, a time-tested agricultural approach, combines rice cultivation with the coexistence of fish in paddy fields. Beyond its well-known benefits for food production, recent research has unveiled an unexpected ecological advantage: the role of fish in mediating surface soil methane oxidation.
