Theoretical study of Ferromagnetism in II-VI diluted magnetic semiconductors, Zn1-xMnxO nanoparticles

Gizachew Giga

Ferromagnetism in II-VI diluted magnetic semiconductor, Zn1−xMnx O is studied. The interest to fabricate a material that combines both the flow of electrons and spins enforce a systematic study of nanostructured Zn1−xMnx O diluted magnetic semiconductor. Different methods are applied to synthesis Zn1−xMnx O nanoparticles. Among all the leading methods includes sol-gel, hydrothermal, Solid state, Co precipitation, pulsed layer deposition, and pulsed laser deposition techniques and Microwave radiation. For most experimental issues a variety of devices including magnetic circular dichroism (MCD), X-ray machine, x-ray diffractions (XRD), energy dispersive x-ray diffraction (EDX), electron paramagnetic resonance, (EPR), ferromagnetic resonance (FMR), spin ferromagnetic resonance, atomic force microscope (AFM), transmission electron microscope (TEM) are used for characterizing the crystal structure and magnetic property of Zn1−xMnx O nanoparticles. The Hamiltonian of the system is determined by Hesenberg’s Model.
